Don’t Stop (Us) Now! – We’re Having Such a Good Time
Queen tribute blog…. say no more.
On a cold Friday night in January we went with a group of Gig Buddies from West Sussex to The Factory Live, a fantastic venue in Worthing to see the Queen tribute act Fat Freddie & The Queens. The gig was a sell out and it wasn’t long before we had forgotten the cold as we warmed up in the mosh pit!
The band were great and did a good job of bringing all the famous Queen hits to life, while not taking themselves too seriously. If you get the chance to see them I think it’s fair to say the buddies who came along would highly recommend them. Antony was particularly impressed with the playing of ‘Brian May’ and said his guitar solos gave him ‘goosebumps’!

Another buddy said “this was my first gig ever, definitely a night to remember”. And Zak, himself a drummer, thought their ‘Roger Taylor’ absolutely nailed it! When asked what he thought of the drum solo Zak raised both thumbs and shouted into my ear ‘Yessss!!’ The band interacted brilliantly with the crowd, including us. During ‘We Will Rock You’ ‘Freddie’ offered Paul the mike and shouted ‘You’re the Man!!!”. Which we were all delighted with, Paul especially. At the end of the show ‘Brian May’ gave Tom and Antony guitar picks and invited them to let rip on his guitar for the final chords of ‘We Are The Champions’. A fantastic end to a great night. ‘Freddie’ then made himself available for photos, despite singing for well over 2 hours!
Gig Buddy volunteer James said “it was a great night and to me summed up the whole gig buddies experience. Buddies chatting to each other, loving the band and rocking out. The band interacting so well with them. Experiences a lot of people take for granted but are so special.”
So, thanks again to Fat Freddie & The Queens and thanks to The Factory Live in Worthing for a top night out! Magnifico!
